A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized at 11 AM, Wednesday, September 27/1933 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. J. A. Lackey, Gladstone when their only daughter, Milda Irene became the bride of Archibald E. McLennan, eldest son of Mrs. D.J. McLennan of Helston, Dr. R.H. Lowry officiating.

The bride entered the room on the arm of her father to the strains of the Wedding March, played by D.D. Major.  She wore a becoming gown of gold georgette and lace with contrasting accessories of beaver brown.  Her going away gown was brown satin with hat and coat to match.  Only the immediate relatives were present.  After the ceremony all sat down to a turkey dinner prepared by the bride's mother.

They left on the 2 o'clock train, spending a few days in the city before returning to the farm at Helston.  Quite a few Gladstone friends were at the depot to give the popular couple a send off with plenty of confetti and good wishes.
